The 2014 Barclaycard Mercury Prize Albums of the Year were announced last night at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden.
The albums shortlisted this year were:

GoGo Penguin – V2.0
Jungle – Jungle
Kate Tempest – Everybody Down
Nick Mulvey – First Mind
Polar Bear – In Each And Every One
Royal Blood – Royal Blood
Young Fathers – Dead
Edinburgh-based hip-hop trio Young Fathers took the prize for best British or Irish record of the last 12 months, announced by DJ Nick Grimshaw
At the end of the announcement, the crowd was treated to stunning performances from Kate Tempest and Nick Mulvey.
